I did not sing. I should have. But I didn't.

Hunter is playing basketball.
His first year playing for the school instead of for a Rec. league.
He's doing pretty well, if you ask me.
They have the teams split up into two; an A Team and a B Team.
When they have games, both teams play. Our A Team against their A Team; our B Team against their B Team. Sometimes A Team plays first, sometimes B Team plays first.
Recently, while at a game watching our B Team play their B Team, I decided to size up their A Team to see what our A Team's opposition looked like, since they were playing directly after the B Team-ers.
This is what I saw sitting on the bench:
OK. So maybe it wasn't the real 1 Direction. But they may as well have been.
I promise you, those A Team-ster boys could have been their own boy band.

I was instantly transported back in time to when NKOTB was in da house. And I was in love. With Jordan. (He's the one in the middle. In red. Red is my favorite color.)
I almost broke out into my very own rendition of "The Right Stuff".
But I refrained.
 Hunter should thank me.

Those A Team kids had everything from the hair right on down to the skinny jeans,
stocking caps, and weird matching Keds.
I half expected them to start singing, "Baby you light up my world like nobody elssssssse!"
Our own middle school girls were drooling.
Traitors.
Then, when the B Team was wrapping things up on the court, I glanced over once more to verify that what I had seen was real, and saw them posing like this:
I kid you not. I had to literally sit on my hands and hum a church hymn to keep from jumping up and down, pumping my fist in the air and singing, "That's what makes you beautiful! Oh-oh! That's what makes you beautiful!"
Now. It's not that I like these kids.
I don't. I'm a grown-up now.
I am leaving that whole boy band "crush" thing up to my daughter(s).
(I put that little 'S' there in parenthesis because what one does, the other does.
This is no exception.)
In fact I would go so far as to say the older one might be a tad on the obsessed part of the From-1-to-10 scale; 1 being "One Direction Who?" and 10 being an "Imma marry me a Zayne".
Corrine would be a 12.
She blows the top clean off the scale.
We have 1D written in big hearts, little hearts, hearts with kissy faces, kissy lips used as the 'D' in 1D, and "I *heart* Liam Neeson", or whatever his name is.

Laynee says she's in love with Harry Stiles.

Ouch.
I just rolled my eyes so far back in my head that they got stuck and I had to bang my head against the wall multiple times to knock 'em straight again.

When I asked Laynee why she liked him the best, she goes, "Just look at him Mom. He smiles so happy!"
I guess I would have to agree with her on that one. He does look a happy lad.
P.S.ByTheWay, Hunter won his game tonight, in case you were wondering. He added 6 baskets to the winning score! And no, they did not play against The Boy Band.

EM!!! That was my first thought when your niece Ashley mentioned how much she loves 1D. NKOTB was our boy band, however Joey was who I had a crush on.
