Snow playin'

Back in February when we took Daisy to "get married", as Laynee would put it, there was snow on the ground. We stopped on our way home from the pre-arranged marriage and played in it. Since it doesn't snow much here around our house, the kids were loving it. I hadn't seen them that excited since the last time I bought sugar cereal 2 years ago!
We allowed Hunter to bring a friend along since sometimes he gets a little overwhelmed with all the estrogen running rampant in our family. I, being the self designated photographer, started taking pictures and realized that these boys were avoiding making eye contact with me. I wasn't really talking to them and I was a little ways off just snapping away happily. When Michael finally looked down/over at me, he laughed because Hunter's friend, at the exact moment the above picture was taken, was asking Michael "why is that lady taking pictures of us? Is she with the newspaper or a magazine or something? I feel really weird." Ha. HA! I guess my picture taking does get a little out of hand sometimes. So funny!

Laynee Bug sure enjoyed the snow. But only after she had insisted on meeting its parents and knowing exactly where it came from and if they had credible references. She wasn't taking any chances with snow she'd never met before.
Have I ever mentioned that she is not a child who can fly by the seat of her pants? She needs a schedule. She needs to be prepared. She needs to have a plan and a backup plan. She is the child who is goes to bed at night worried that she won't know how to be a mom or drive a car and will only calm down when I reassure her that I will be there to guide her and love her every step of the way. It's really very sweet.

Them thar hills was slipp-er-ee.

Two of my favorite people.

When all was said and done, we had a blast playing in the snow. And it was so nice to drive back to our house where there was no snow and where we could relax and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa in our warm cozy house and watch the rain fall. Because hey. We do have rain.
