Mother's day beach trip
When Michael asked me what I wanted to do for Mother's Day, I said nothing. Well I didn't say nothing. I said, "Nothing." (Isn't it amazing the way punctuation changes the whole meaning of a sentence? Weird.)
Now, by saying, "Nothing," what I really meant was, "I don't want to do a lick of housework, yard work, etc." And yes, I really did say, "Etc."
So we went to the beach. One of our favorite spots, to be exact. The one where we have to hike a mile to get there. Remember that one?
It was perfect. We shared the beach with no one. It was a pretty windy day there, but we managed to find this very large driftwood stump to hide behind.
Michael and Hunter played catch... (Michael is stooping to get the ball in the pic below.)
...sand horsies...
...built mini sand castles (just to the left of Corrine's arm is the outer fortress, and Laynee is still playing sand horsies)...
...posed like models on the driftwood...
...played beach baseball...
...and took pictures of the local wildlife.
Can you believe the size of that surf perch? I'm surprised his arm isn't weighed down more. But what can I say? We raise 'em strong 'round here.
Oooh! And check out this ginormous Pepsi I found. I tell you what, it was easy getting into, but uber hard to get out of. I managed, though. It did help with all that caffeine to pump me up.
Over all, it was the greatest Mother's Day evah!
