Champions

Hunter was in track again this year and it was so fun to see how he has changed and evolved and progressed from last year. He was faster, more dedicated and a little bit stronger. So when he threw the javelin, it actually went further than 18 inches.
He participated in shot put, javelin, long jump, 100 meter dash and the 4 x 100 meter relay. It was so great to watch him and feel my chest swell with pride when he would place. Psh. My chest swelled with pride even when he didn't place. That's how proud we are of this kid.
Not only did we as parents think he and his team performed well, so did the judges and time keepers. Our boys won districts! Woo Hoo! They went the highest they could go in our little community. They did not go on to State because our school is too small. They didn't care, though. Just look at their faces!
(This was not all of the boys on the team. There were many more. These are just some of Hunter's friends posing with their trophy.)

I couldn't resist taking this photo. I guess it's because I was impressed that he was able to find a pair of pants of this caliber in these parts. I mean, round here, fancy clothes like that may as well come from Paris or something, they're so rare. He certainly didn't get them at the feed store, that's for sure!
