A special day for The Falls

We had a special day last week! Oh yes we did! Someone had a birthday! And he is soooooooo big. Yes he is. Oh, he's a big boy now. Soooooo big!
Sorry. Mr. Lincoln made me talk baby talk. I just can't help it! He's so sweet! I love this little man. Almost as much as I love my own little man. Only he's not so little anymore. As I mentioned above, he had a birthday last week and he turned 12!
I remember when my Hunter man was this tiny. He was such a sweet baby. Always smiley, cooey, and smooshable! He was my best bud. He's still super smiley, but he's sorta outgrown the cooey stage. And sometimes he'll let me smoosh him, but only when none of his friends are watching. Actually, that's not entirely true. The other day, he got invited over to a friend's house and they were going to another friend's house for a BBQ before our town high school's homecoming football game and he had forgotten his jacket and ID card. He called and asked if I would bring it to him. I obliged and when I arrived, I walked inside where there was a house jam packed with people, kids and grown ups alike because it was Homecoming Pre Game and have you ever attended a Homecoming football game in a small town? It might be comparable to when the Olympics came to Salt Lake. It's that big. Anyways, when I brought him his jacket and ID card, he publicly thanked me with a hug and a kiss. I know, right? I am one lucky mama.

To celebrate our boy's 12th birthday and his 13th journey around the sun, [part of] my family came to visit. Originally it was going to be a larger crowd, but Mandy wasn't able to make it due to other obligations, Scott and Korin couldn't come because of work, Chris had social events that took precedence, and Timmy had a full school schedule that could not be interrupted. So that left Kev, Carrie, baby Lincoln and my mom and dad. Which was pretty awesome indeed. We had so much fun with them! We took them up to one of our favorite spots, South Umpqua Falls. It did not disappoint. And it was exciting to share such a fun place with those we love.

Linc-a-binc enjoyed camping out in the shade with his mama, Omee and any arms who were willing to hold him, which, by the way, were not hard to come by. Everyone loves this little one.

Little Miss Sunshine. She was so cute and self entertained that day! I loved it! She would put on some goggles, hold her nose and bend way down to peek under the water. She even found a special rock.

Kev and Miguel atop the rock slide.

Corrine watches from below.

See? The special rock.

Sweet little man baby.

Even Laynee love Linc. I was only a little surprised.

I can't get enough of this babe!

Yeeee Haw!

Oh! There's Pa. We went to dinner after The Falls at our fav restaurant. Yummmy!

This is one great shot. Kudos to whoever took it. Kev and I are watching Michael slide down and land in the pool below. Cool , huh?

There he is! Mr. Birthday Boy!

Hunter bud, I am so happy to be your mama. You are growing into such an amazing person. And I say person because that's what you are. You are no longer a little child, yet you aren't an adult and not quite a teenager. You are in that magical in between place where you are letting go of your younger years and looking towards the teen years. Your interests are changing, you're growing both emotionally and physically, you are learning so much, and we are honored to be sharing this life with you. You make us so proud, Hunter. I can't wait to see what this year holds for you!

Oh. Em. Gee. I'm sitting here at work and realized that I haven't read your blog in FOR-EV-ER. I just read your posts from a really really long time ago until now and I've been giggling and almost crying reading all of your Emily-isms. You have an incredible little family and a beautiful life Mike and Emily. Well done. Well done.

ERMA, cherish, cherish, cherish these moments.....I think I did, but I know I didn't fully appreciate them in the moment. I do know that if we were as technically SMART back then my kids would not think they were adopted....like that would ever have happend LOL. Can you say CLONES.....Mike is totally a Schippers and could be your brother cause you could be my daughter, and I don't know where Natalie came from cause I don't believe Bob birthed her although she looks like he could have...and Brad...well I know I birthed him, no mistake...and it is scary to say the least that his genes are so BOBish.... I am so glad I am techy...and have a good camera...LOL
