Not everyone was "Enchanted" right away

We wanted to take Grandma to this fabulous little storybook sortof amusement park called the Enchanted Forest. I thought for sure the kids would love it. It started out fine enough and Hunter and Corrine were excited to explore the winding paths that led from one fairy tale to another. Laynee was a completely different story. She insisted on riding on Grandma's back or being carried by me almost the entire time. I guess if you look at it from a 4 year old's point of view, it is a little scary. Loud, eerie music, dark, small enclosed spaces...yeah that would freak me out too.

The park is located in an actual forest and it is gorgeous to say the least.

The castle is always a good place to start. Laynee was all smiles. Until we went inside.

Haha. Just a funny "notice" that was on the bulletin board at the "town hall".

The home of the Wicked Witch that almost ate Hansel and Gretel was super cute. On the outside. Once again, Layna was freaked (naturally) by the scene inside of Gretel in a cage and the witch trying to push Hansel into the fire.

This was fun! The kids got to go down the rabbit hole that the white rabbit leads Alice down in Alice in Wonderland. It goes under ground and then winds around and comes up on the other side of the path. Then you go through a maze and try to find your way out of Wonderland.

Laynee just wanted to make sure Grandma was having fun and that she knew the way out of the  maze.

Apprehensively, Laynee decided it would be OK to look in the window of The 7 Dwarfs Cottage.

She was not, however, OK entering the mouth of the witch. Even when I told her there was a slide that came out so we could escape. Sheesh! I just can't understand why she didn't want to go in. After posing for the above photo, I kindly stepped away from the giant head and comforted my baby. She wasn't completely OK, though until she saw Grandma, Hunter and Corrine emerge from the giant beast.

Hi.

This was fun. Remember the woman who lived in a shoe who had so many children she didn't know what to do? She built a slide so her kids could be somewhat entertained all the time. She was kind enough to let all the other children of the world use the slide too. Laynee did not want to be among them, but Hunter and Corrine had a great time!

Here is yet another underground tunnel. This one started inside a tepee and came out inside some caves that you had to wind your way around. I forced Laynee to go inside, and I'm so glad I did. She fought me at first, but then she relaxed enough to play with me, and we had so much fun.

Isn't this so cute? There weren't very many people there. This was the first weekend they were open for the season.

There were some rides, not a lot of them, but some, and this one was just right for Laynee. She got to sit in a little boat and steer it around in a little pool. Kindof like baby bumper cars on water. She loved it!

Grandma and the older kids had fun on the bumper cars.

I took Laynee on a train ride that went around a miniature version of the Forest.

We ended our day by going on the log ride. Good thing we ended it that way, too, because we all got soaked!  It was so fun though!

Overall, we had a great time and even Laynee said she didn't want to leave.  But leave we did. And it's a good thing, too. Michael was waiting at home for us...

P.S. I bet Anna is one awesome grandma- she was always making us laugh as the funniest neighborhood mom too...
