Ringing in the New Year

So I paid the $5 it cost to keep this puppy going for another however long 5 bucks will last me.
And now I present you with...this post.

We had our annual gathering on Hartmonian Way once again this year. These folks are some of the world's finest. I cannot get enough of them. Good food (all naturally organic - and by that I mean that all of their veggies, meats, beans and fruit they grow or catch themselves. You like Livin' off the Land? They literally do.), good conversation and fabulous times all around.
This is me and Dr. Suzy. She is not only an amazing friend and woman, she's a pet doc, too. Their golden, Gloria and our Daisy are going to be mothers together this year!

Bacon wrapped duck? YES PLEASE.

Gloria and Corrine snuggled the night away.

The small-ish but more than fun-ish New Year's crowd.
L to R: Granny, Dan, Mutt, Miguel, Suzy, and Brenda. (Dan belongs to Suzy, and Mutt belongs to Brenda. We all know who Miguel answers to, and Granny is Dan's madre.)

Of all the toys available, Laynee Bug chose these to play with. The dog's toys. She had them all set out and organized and was either teaching them the alphabet or trying to teach them Spanish. It was hard to tell for sure.

Our kids learned how to play poker. With darts and star wars cards. *sniff* They grow up so fast!

Pyrotechnics were performed. Not to worry. Dan is a card carrying flare gun owner.

He still could use a little help now and then, though.

Uh, burning down the mountain? Good thing it was snowing! Oh, and it landed in their pond, so no biggie.

The kids had poppers and before she would pop hers open, Layna insisted on a photo shoot. (Please note the shirt. It has a picture of Cinderella and says, "If the shoe fits...")

Total poser.
That round, red, rosy cheek of hers? Not sure what it is. It comes and goes, but she loves it. She calls it her shadow.

Mwah.

Here's to an amazing year.
