An "-itis" of some sort or another

pneumonia (noo-mohn-yuh,) noun

inflammation of one or both lungs, in which the air sacs (alveoli) become filled with liquid, which renders them useless for breathing. It is usually caused by bacterial (esp pneumococcal) or viral infection.

Sweet Layna and her rosy patch on her right cheeky which she affectionately calls her "shadow". Sadly enough, it only shows up when she's sick. :(

Poor little bug. She has pneumonia, and as a result, the rest of us are miserable. It's so hard to have a little one be so sick and want to help them, but not know how. She had to get a hefty shot in her thigh yesterday and hooo boy! It was a doozy. She cried and whimpered and moaned. Then she refused to walk. Literally refused. Like, laying down on the floor and going dead bones on me. So what did I do? I walked away and left my oxygen deprived, feverish, crying child on the floor until she could stand up and walk like a man. KIDDING! Just kidding moms. I bent down and scooped her up, coddled her, and whispered sweet promises of Dutch Bros smoothies and ice cream in her ear. Poor baby. She even seems to have lost a pound or two, which for this girl is not a good thing. She only weighs 28 pounds! Luckily, as I write this (a week later that the original draft) she is on the up and up. Unfortunately, Hunter, Michael and I are all coming down with our own version of bronchial-lung-inflammation-itis. (Yes. I am aware that "-itis" means "inflammation of". I did take pre-nursing classes. I simply like to be redundant.) I'm tempted to snitch a little of her antibiotics. But, alas, I (we) will make due with Tylenol Cold and Flu hot drinks. Which I may or may not have already had more than my share of.
Internet? I loooooove you.

Oh poor bug. Give her a great big hug from Auntie Mandy, Kylie, and Ashley. Hope the rest of you start feeling better soon. We love you all and miss seeing you.
