I'll take it

The other night we went out to eat Chinese food. It was delicious. We don't eat out much so when we do, it better be good or we'll seriously be raising some heck! This food was really good, and we had enough leftover to take home and eat for lunch the next day, except Michael and Hunter went goose hunting so that left me and Corrine to devour it by ourselves. I was kind enough to leave the fried shrimp for the boys because, bleh, fried shrimp? No thank you. Well, that and the fact that Michael loves it.
So you know how when you're at a Chinese restaurant and the waitress brings the check but it's not really the check you're waiting for but the fortune cookies that come with the check? That's us. We were all on the edge of our seats waiting for our futures to be mapped out in the form of a tiny piece of paper stuffed inside a hard vanilla flavored cookie. As soon as our waitress set down the little tray, each of us snatched up the first cookie that called to us. When I read mine, I thought, "Hmmm. OK. I can make that happen." But no sooner had I thought that than Michael goes, "I think our fortunes got mixed up. This one belongs to you."
Now, I'm not one to mess with the fates of a fortune cookie, but I trust Michael and would follow him to the ends of the earth if he were to ask. We switched. So happy we did.
Michael's new fortune:
I think he's hoping to get some.

My new fortune:
I'm hoping to get some, too.

This is as good as an open-ended gift certificate.
