Those of you who know my husband also know that he has a huge love for all things wild. Under that "Wild" topic, are many sub-topics. Today we will be focusing on the "Animal Kingdom" sub-topic.
This love that I speak of has been passed on to our son, and of course it has also been encouraged to grow. So too has our animal population begun to grow. In our home. The grand total is now as follows:
1 diaper eating Golden Retriever; Daisy
1 obstinate cat; Olive
2 rather quiet Diamondback turtles; Shimmy and Shimmer
And 2 cat-teasing parakeets; Aqua and Rocket.
Hunter has been saving his money for a long time. In addition to his monthly allowance and the money he got from my parents for Christmas, he has been offering his lawn mowing services to those in need. For a price. He vacillated between saving for a laptop, an iPod touch, and other electronic devices. Once he saw the birds, however, his mind was made up. Wednesday was the day Michael surprised him by giving the 'go ahead' and off they went to pick up the newest members of our family. I must say, I've been pleasantly surprised at their sweet sing-song chirps. I love to hear them chitter to each other. It's like having a nature reserve in our own home.
Next up on the list: Breeding Daisy Dog.
This will be the chapter where if I make it through with my eyelashes still growing and not plucked out by my own hand, it will be a miracle because you know, if we breed her, the whole family will want to keep at least one of her offspring. Guess I better get crackin' on the potty training. I can only handle one poo eating canine.
