Binge and purge
I have this horrible habit of holding on to every little thing the kids make or write or draw or create. This in turn makes my humble abode feel very cramped for all the papers and crafts and stuff that are stuffed and crammed into every nook and cranny. It's not a fun feeling, but it's so hard to let go of their sweet little creations. I must say, I am getting better as time goes on. With Hunter, I save every piece of paper he even so much as drew a polka dot on. With Corrine I threw away the single polka dotted ones, but saved all the others. With The Bug, I only save them if she has written her name on them. In cursive. With an ink pen. I don't think I'm expecting too much from my toddler, do you?
In my ongoing quest to be orgainized, I sometimes have my kids make lists to outline their day. That way they won't forget what they need to do and then when they have a down moment they can consult their list and know exactly what will come next. Last week I was picking up and this was on the top of a pile of papers I was going to put in our "burn" pile for the fireplace. It's Corrine's "to-do" list. In case you can't read it, it says:- Play with Jazz or Kate
- Study fariys
- Get on the enternet
- Wath a movie
- Play outside
Ahhhh, it feels so good to purge sometimes.
