Back in August we had some special visitors come. Ed, Vicky, and Tata. The time went way too fast (it always does when we have loved ones come) and we had a great time with them here. SO sad that I am just now posting about their stay...

We went up to Crater Lake. I had only been once before and that was in the winter time. The lake did not disappoint. Here are Vicky and Ed. And Crater Lake.

It was super windy up here. And a little chilly. I was all, "COME ON! IT'S AUGUST. FOR THE SAKE OF PETE, WARM UP!" Well, maybe not really. But I haven't used all caps in a while and it just feels really good to do that sometimes.

This was as good as our family pic was going to get. For some reason, Laynee just will not cooperate. And Hunter? I won't even go there.

Ed's shirt makes me want to ask if anyone's taken their bikes off any SWEet jumps lately. Anyone?

I don't even know if the day will come when all of us are able to take what the world considers a normal picture, but let me tell you this; normal for us is waay-hay-hay not normal for anyone else.

See what I mean? I asked her to show me her dirty face. Love this.

She made little piles of dirt all along the walkway. I think it's so she can find her way back. Also, I cannot get her to wear anything but dresses. Ever.

Here she is walking like a penguin. Da-da feet. Or Happy Feet to those who don't speak Elayna.

I yub him.

See how pretty Vicky is? She's my mom-in-love's little sis. And Tata. I'm so happy he got to come and see where we live.

I must be really hormonal right now, because this picture just made me burst into tears. Wah, wah, sniffle, snort.

This one too.

Michael took this shot. He didn't mess with it at all. This is just how blue Crater Lake really is. Amazing, right?

Just before they left, we went to dinner at our favorite restaurant.
Things I love about this picture:
Corrine's pose.
Laynee's arm.
Michael's biceps.
Hunter and Tata's embrace.
Ed.
And the fact that Vicky is smaffing. (That's a mix between a smile and a laugh.)

Our family is unique in that we don't change our table manners just because we're at a fancy restaurant.

And I just threw this one in there because I loved it too much not to.

You know how they say that animals have a sixth sense about people?
Our little Olive loved to snuggle up with Tata. She stayed there forever and I think he loved it, too. Maybe she was channeling a little bit of Nani right about then.

Is he really that big? He can't be 10 can he? STOP GROWING RIGHT NOW.

One of my favorites.
A perfect one to end with.
Thanks for the visit Ed, Vicky and Tata. We loved being able to show you a bit of our world. We love you to pieces.
