Turtle Power

This weekend instead of going away camping or vacationing, we are turning our home into a zoo. A turtle zoo. A good friend of ours loves turtles and she owns, like 30 of them. OK, not really 30. Maybe 15, but still. They went camping and we were the logical choice for caretakers because, well, pretty soon we'll have our license approved through the state that says we can house all sorts of animals and wildlife because the man of the house is a bona-fide, certified, documented, professional Wildlife Biologist and what info he doesn't already have stored inside his brain, well, Google is there to help with that.

Off topic, but totally related to post title: Remember when Vanilla Ice was popular and so were the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Vanilla Ice had a cameo appearance in one of their movies? Well, one time when I was a Junior Volunteer (aka Candy Striper) at Primary Children's Hospital, he came and signed autographs for all the kids there, and I maybe got his autograph and a giant whiff of his cologne. And why the name Candy Striper? I mean, it's not like we looked like a candy cane or a piece of peppermint candy--oh wait. Yes. We did. We totally did.
