Still hangin around

I couldn't go through with it. My molie friend (Roberta) is still present. When I got to the Dr. office and met with the technician, (not the doctor - I can't even get into see her until November) she informed me that the placement of my mole is in a particularly difficult spot, and removing it would require a 3 inch long needle being stuck into my nasal cavity and Roberta then being scooped out with an apparatus resembling a miniature ice cream scoop, only razor sharp. Even then she would not guarantee that I wouldn't have an unsightly scar in its place. So, long story short, until I decide that I can no longer stand the sight of it, (and if I feel like paying the outrageous bill that my insurance won't cover) Roberta will stay where she is. My visit was not in vain, however, because there was one mole that gave her concern enough to remove it from my back. Nice. At least the kids kept me entertained during the procedure. Corrine was as chatty as a magpie on a morning in Spring. She won over the tech with her endless flattery.
"I like your shoes, they look so comfortable. I like your skirt, too. It's really pretty. Did you curl your hair or does it just do that by itself? I wish my hair would curl like yours. It just goes straight like this. *thbbbt* My mom tries to curl it sometimes, but it never stays in. Do you have any kids? My brother is 9 and I just turned 8. My baby sister is 2. She's really loud sometimes. Do you have your ears pierced? How come you don't have any earrings in? I almost got my ears pierced but then I got clip ons. Did it hurt when you got yours pierced? I was scared it would hurt. That's why I went with the clip ons, instead." And on, and on.

In the meantime, Laynee loves that Roberta is still with us. She has taken a keen interest in playing with her lately. It's only mildly embarrassing when we're in public and she screams when I don't let her rest her pointer finger on my nose.

You are still one beautiful woman with or without Roberta. I hope you are feeling ok with the other loss.

That's so funny, I have a mole that Megan loves to play with...but mine is on my wrist. She always has to sit on my left side with my arm around her so she can get to it. I don't get it.

I love you Roberta-A.

Don't be surprised if at Lake Powell you suddenly find a wandering finger on your nose that belongs to me. Because ever since I heard that Laynee does it, I have some kind of urge to rest my finger upon it. Okay? Okay.

ERMA, arn't we are own worst critics? did the dermatologist really tell you that!? Hmm second opionion would be on my schedule. But there to stay or gone one day, you are still beautiful, but I do know how you feel. I too am a monster mole lady and I have always HATED them. Never learned to love or embrase them...(sigh) in my perfect world I will be.... flat stomached and mole-less, until then...it is a good thing I can laugh at myself! Oh by the way, your darling childrens blogs are darling! The pic of Corrine in the field of flowers is PRICELESS! should be entered in a contest or something! hugs....
That would kind of scare me too...the long needle and the bill. Em...you are pretty inside and out :)
