Awww

My boy is the ultimate flatterer. Here's why:

He just created his own blog. He said to me today, "I'm really into blogging lately."
(He created it yesterday.)
"Mom, are you going to write about my blog on your blog, because you know, you are the master."

Me: "Huh?"

Hunter: "You know. Everyone's always saying how cool your blog is and they love to read it. I just know that if you write something about my blog on your blog, they'll check mine out and then I'll get so many comments! It will be awesome! "

Me: "Buddy! Thanks. But you know, the only reason they look at mine is to see what I write about you kiddos."

Contemplative silence.

Hunter: "So that means if you write about my blog on your blog, everyone will visit me instead of you? I'll be, like, stealing your readers and stuff? AWESOME. So...what will you write about me?"

Sweet boy. Here's another reason why I love him:

I just got my hair done, and it came out wayyyyy dark. I really like it, but it was a bit of a shock at first. Knowing I would get an honest answer from my son, I asked him, "Is my hair too dark? Does it look funny?"
He goes, "No way. It's dark like Grandma's. And like Opa's. And they're both really cool. But probably you should keep it long like Grandma's. I don't think a boy's haircut would look good on you. I mean you're pretty and all, but you're not a boy. Thank goodness, or else I wouldn't be here. And that would be really sad."
