hidebound \HAHYD-bound\, adjective:
narrow-minded and stubborn.
By 1559, from hide "cattle skin" + past tense of bind. Original reference is to emaciated cattle with skin sticking closely to backbones and ribs; metaphoric sense of "restricted by narrow attitudes" is first recorded 1603.

Corrine saw this post on Tamara's blog about Cassidy cleaning the whole house. Actually, she heard us talking about it and then asked to see it. We showed it to her and she was all gung-ho about cleaning my bathroom with a toothbrush. Then she had to clean out the cabinets and wipe them down. She did 2 shelves. And she did a great job of cleaning my bathroom. I loved it! I only wish it would have lasted a bit longer.

The whole time she kept asking me to take pictures of her mopping the floor, or wiping down the shower, or scrubbing the cupboards. I kept putting it off because I knew that the second I took the last shot, she would proclaim her work finished. That was two days ago, and I'm still waiting for her to finish her own bathroom. You know what though? That's probably more than I did when I was her age! Love that she wanted to clean. Even if it was to keep up with her cuz. Now we just need to work on her organizational skillz. Earlier this evening, I had asked her to put away her crafty stuff and she just chucked it all in a box and flung the box in a far away corner. I tried to explain to her the benefits of organization and she goes, "Ugh. I don't like organizing things. It takes too long. Why don't you just do it?"
Ummm, right.
Honestly! She can be so hidebound sometimes!
