Christmas Eve
This year, it was just us. And I won't lie to you and tell you that we didn't miss our families. We missed them mucho, mucho grande. That means a lot! But we also enjoyed our own little family where we could celebrate with it just being us. It was very special and very funny. Funny because our kids crack me up. There is never dull dinner conversation with them around.
We started our evening out by eating. Always a good way to begin, I say.
Dinner and a toast: to family, and food. Nothing better than that!
After dinner, we let the kids choose one gift to open. Either from Grandparents or friends. Hunter chose to open a 3-in-one gift from our dear friend and neighbor Tim. Bunter was thrilled with his new toys, as all boys are when they get boats and submarines that are really really made for water, and a race car that seriously sails on the wood floors.
Laynee had a difficult time figuring out what she was supposed to do with her gift, so she had Daddy help her. Once she saw what it was (Thanks, Grandma!), she was super excited and dressed, redressed and put her baby to bed many times.
I don't think Corrine liked her Black Light Diary at all. Sorry, Grandma. She just didn't want to have anything to do with it all night. And sadly enough, she hasn't written a thing in it or hidden it anywhere so that Hunter, Laynee, Michael or I can't find it. Also, she rolled her eyes so many times that night, that she had serious sight problems the next day. And I'm not even being sarcastic.

Next up: Christmas Day. But you'll have to be patient, because THERE IS NO SCHOOL UNTIL JANUARY 5. And every time I sit down I hear, "Mom?" "Mom!" "MOM!" "MOMMMM!"
I love my kids. Truly I do. I even love spending time with them. I promise. It's just that, I love school too. And I love that my kids aren't screaming at eachother with boredom when their friends can't play and it's raining outside and WHAT NOW?!
Oh. Of course I'll snuggle and read a book with you. (This part, I love!)
I hope your Christmases were as merry and bright as ours was.
