Wednesday's Word Today

"Eyes of the Hawk!"
"Ears of the Wolf!"
"Strength of the Bear!"
"Speed of the Puma!"

For the life of me, I could not figure out the name of this cartoon that used to be popular when I was a kid. I was in love with Marshall BraveStarr. He was very good looking and had all the qualities I was looking for in a man. My brother, Scott and I watched it all the time, so in my quest to figure out the name of this cartoon, I figured I would call him and ask him if he could remember. These are his exact words:
"I can't remember. Let me ask some of the guys on the job here who are kinda geeky like that."

Ummm, did he just call me geeky? Just because I remembered those phrases, has nothing to do with my geekiness. Now, if he was talking about my obsession with Amelia Earhart, Neil Diamond, or how satisfied I feel after popping a zit, well then, that's another story.

What does this have to do with Wednesday's Word? Hang on, I'm getting to it.

This past week, Miguel had the laser eye surgery to correct his vision. What with him being a nimrod and all, sight is very important to him. As I was pondering what word to use for this post, and looking at some recent pictures, the idea suddenly hit me. Like an apostrophe. Ok, an epiphany. (I was just trying to be funny. I know what an apostrophe is. Have I ever told you about my obsession with correct punctuation? No? Another post, then.) So we all traveled the 100 miles south to a place that far and stayed in a super sweet hotel complete with waterslide and ABC channel 9. (The Bachelor is on. DUH!) After he had the surgery, he had to keep his eyes closed for 6 hours and put drops in them every 1/2 hour. He also got to wear some super saxy goggles. Yes, I know. It's sexy, not saxy. But our kids aren't allowed to say the other word in school or they'll get a yellow slip. When he pulled out the goggles, I whistled low and gave a growl to let him know how I felt about them, and he modeled them so nicely for me. I was able to snap this pic as he was doing a little jig on a makeshift catwalk, all while brushing his teeth. Now that's skill. He's got skills. So, the long (not short) of this is that there are two words for Wednesday's Word. I know. I'm a giver.
You may have guessed one of the words already.

Nimrod: Bible a mighty hunter.
and
Lynx-eyed: adj. keen-sighted.

That's where Marshall BraveStarr comes into play. Michael now has the Eyes of the Hawk. Among his other redeeming qualities are Strength of the Bear and Ears of the Wolf. He is currently working on Speed of the Puma, but let's not rush things. Get it? Rush things? Ha! So I guess you could say that in the end, I did end up marrying my Marshall. And, yes. He is that saxy.

Oh man, you don't know how confused I was when I scrolled through this post really quickly just looking at the two pictures and I was like, "Okay. What could these two pictures POSSIBLY have in common with each other?!" Of course, once again, you've succeeded in making me giggle and snort like a total dotard in front of my computer.
