Temple Square

My dad's work gave their employees tickets to see National Treasure 2 downtown at the Gateway Cinemas. He thought it would be fun to take us with him! So we all piled into the Family Truckster, aka, The Invisible Jet (or at least in high school I wished it were invisible) aka, the minivan, and headed off to downtown SLC! The movie was great. (or so they tell me. I spent most of it out in the lobby with a screaming baby. Not upset screaming, just screaming because she likes the sound of her own scream.) Afterward, Chris and my dad left and the rest of the clan: Mom, me, Mandy, Kevin, Hunter, Corrine, Ashley, and Layna Bug thought it would be so fun to check out the lights! We were right! It was so fun! The only thing I had forgotten about my old hometown was that in December, it's really cold when the sun goes down! Good thing for trax and buildings on Temple Square that are heated.
Sweet Layna Bug was all tuckered out. That's what screaming'll do to a girl.

Mom and Kev
Kev and me
L to R: Corrine, Ashley, Hunter. They couldn't believe the size of the Christus. I had forgotten, as well. It was fun for me to see the awe in their faces.
"Sorry Steve. That leg's just gonna have to come off."

We were so cold! We all huddled around the camera hoping the flash would keep us warm. It didn't.

Just some of the pretty lights we saw there. No where else compares to the lights on Temple Square.

Corrine loves Nativity scenes. She especially liked this one because it's just her size!

I am in love with the new Nativity they have. I suppose it's not really that new, but to me it is! My favorite thing about this one is the fact that Mary is holding her baby. In all the other scenes, you see Mary and everyone else just hovering over a baby Jesus lying in a manger. I know that's part of the story, but to me, this is how Mary really was. She held her Son, and loved Him, and cuddled Him. It's so much more real and human, to me.

L to R: Mom, Kev, Me and Mandy. Yes, she's short, but not that short! She's crouching, silly!
A final parting shot of SLC as we sped away on Trax.

Em- 18 degrees is balmy weather in SLC in December!!!
Em, I knew that I wasn't adopted! There's no way that you and I could be equally weird. That's too big of a coincidence. So quit telling me that I was adopted... and mom said peanut butter is not made of dead grasshoppers. Please stop filling my head with lies.

I'm tearing up right now!! Temple Square totally makes me think of you and OUR memories there!!

Love you TONS!
So, Chris gets his own personal thingy huh? Well, allow me to introduce you to Kevin... He's 22 years old, lives in St. George where he currently enjoys the weather. He has brown hair and brow... gree... wait a minute... I forgot my freakin eye color..(checks mirror) HAZEL! that's right hazel eyes. He enjoys snowboarding and pretty much anything with a board. He should be working on a paper due in English tomorrow but decided he'd rather waste time commenting on this blog. He is going to Hawaii in March to visit a special someone... sorry ladies, he's not single. He has often been told that he is retarded, sorry handicapped to be politically correct and schizophrenic when he busts out a different accent every time he speaks. I think he just has issues but that's me... wait a minute, it really is me. Weird. Ok this personal is OVER!!!
