This was Michael's smoke pole (muzzle loader) deer.
As many of you know, Michael is now home from his elk hunt. YAY! Actually he got home over a week ago. Here are some pictures he took along the way. This elk was not the one he brought home, but another that he called in. And, YES, he really is THAT close. Michael was zoomed all the way in and here is this big boy just screaming in his face! Talk about adrenaline rush!
After searching...and SEARCHING! I can't seem to locate the pictures of Michael's most recent elk. You'll just have to take my word for it, but he is beautiful. If you haven't yet recieved the story he emailed out, and you would like to read it, let me know and I can send it to you. It's a long one, but totally worth the read. Michael is an incredibly talented writer and storyteller. (I'll have to post the pics later, when Michael can tell me where they are)

I wonder if my man will ever grow his hair out? Don't you think that when a man has hair that is thick and rich like a man's hair should be, it should be long? No man-bun style though. Bleh. I know I've told you before, but I'll say it again. I love to get my hair done. There's just something about having someone else play with my hair that puts me into a hypnotic state. It's soooo relaxing, and I love the feeling of fresh, soft, just done-by-someone-else hair. It's also something that I don't do often for 2 reasons: 1) I'm lazy and don't like having to maintain my hair. 2) It can get pretty pricey. It may be because I fell into one of those hypnotic states that the following disaster occurred. I guess my first clue of impending doom should have been when my stylist decided to get her nails done. At the same time that I showed up for my appointment. Now, I'm a compassionate person, I didn't think it was a big deal, so I shrugged it off, and waited patiently for her to finish.
